Hello!
Nice to meet you! I'm Loretta Holmberg, owner and dog trainer at Polite Pups Academy. My foray into the dog training world started because I had 2 reactive dogs several years ago. Lucky me, I know!! I quickly went from a hobbyist dog trainer, to an intern with a remarkable dog trainer, and then to a full fledge dog trainer! Besides having 5 of my own rescued dogs (two desert dog mixes, 2 English Golden Retrievers, and a Min Pin), I am also the Adoption Coordinator for a rescue group, World Animal Guardians. My family and I have fostered about 80 dogs in our home in the last 3 years. I have trained a lot of those dogs while they stayed in our home.
I currently train private clients here in the Maryland area. COVID-19 brought my dog training services online with many clients, including group classes for children who wanted to train their family dogs. I work with all types of dog breeds and personalities. My goal is to ensure you and your dog have a successful relationship that is built on trust and to help you understand your dog.
